Homecoming Week at Averett University, held from October 13–16, was a time filled with excitement, school spirit, and community. Hosted by the Campus Activities Board (CAB), the week featured a variety of events designed to bring students together and celebrate Cougar pride.
The week kicked off on Monday with Decorate and Celebrate in the Cougar Den. Students were invited to stop by between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to grab a delicious cupcake and help decorate the space in true Averett spirit. The event created a festive start to the week, filled with laughter, creativity, and plenty of blue and gold pride.
On Tuesday night, the energy continued with Glow in the Dark Dodgeball in Carrington Gym from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Students showed up ready to compete and have fun under the blacklights, with glowing gear lighting up the court. The friendly matches brought out students’ competitive sides while keeping the atmosphere fun and energetic.
Wednesday’s event took things up another notch with an action-packed Laser Tag and Photo Booth Night from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Students enjoyed friendly battles of laser tag while capturing memories with friends at the photo booth. The mix of adrenaline and laughter made it one of the most popular nights of the week.
Finally, Thursday wrapped up Homecoming Week with the Look Good, Feel Good event, featuring a food truck and free student tickets. Students were able to enjoy great food, good vibes, and a relaxing way to close out a week full of fun and community.
Homecoming Week was a huge success, bringing together students from all across campus to celebrate what it means to be part of the Averett family. CAB did an outstanding job planning and hosting events that reminded everyone that Cougar pride runs deep.
