As the Director of Student Success, April Love-Loveless has a lot on her plate but does an amazing job managing it. Her role takes a lot of responsibility and accountability making sure that she helps any students struggling with their academics, attendance or time management at Averett University.

 “Different students have different things that are happening every day and so me and my team want to be there to help support them through that process,” Love-Loveless said.

Love-Loveless’ day to day schedule is busy with multiple tasks, which include checking emails, writing to- do list, addressing students, looking at case loads, scheduling meetings, and attending meetings.

This year marks her eighth year working at Averett. She previously served as the university’s director of experiential learning before transferring her talents to the Student Success Center.

 “It’s definitely been a learning curve for me.  I have almost been in this position for 2 months in April, and so it’s been super fun. It’s been a lot different but I’ve been excited to learn.”

When Love-Loveless is not busy with her hectic schedule she likes to enjoy her free time. “I love reading, so I do a lot of reading on my Kindle. I am also a habitual Tiktok scroller.
