Saturday, January 25th, 2025, was an exciting day at Averett University as prospective students gathered on campus for Scholarship Day. This event, which offers an inside look at the university and its scholarship opportunities, is unlike any other.

Scholarship Day at Averett is unique in the way it brings together both current and prospective students. The day is dedicated to providing an immersive experience for high school seniors, allowing them to explore scholarship opportunities, have one-on-one interviews with the admissions team, meet current students, and tour the campus. Daniel Olasoko is a sophomore from Lagos, Nigeria, majoring in computer science. He served as a student ambassador during the event and enjoyed sharing his experiences with prospective students.

“Being a Student Ambassador on this day is special,” Olasoko said. “I get to show prospective students everything that Averett offers, and I love telling them even about my own personal experiences. It’s exciting to think that this day might help them make one of the biggest decisions of their life.”

As a Student Ambassador, Olasoko’s role on Scholarship Day is very important. He helped guide the prospective students through the campus, gave them insights into student life, and answered any questions they had about Averett’s academic programs, student activities, and scholarship opportunities. “One of my favorite parts of the day was seeing how excited the students were as they learned about the scholarships and realized that Averett could be a great place for them,” he said.

Scholarship Day isn’t just about showcasing the university, it’s also about helping students understand the value of the scholarships they can apply for. “At Averett, the scholarship process is transparent and straightforward,” Olasoko explained. “There’s something for everyone, and it’s a real opportunity for students to get the financial support they need to succeed.
