Throughout her career at Averett, Caroline Tamburstuen has made a name for herself in collegiate golf. Tamburstuen is a senior majoring in business administration from Sandvika, Norway, and has 2 individual career wins and has played in 26 tournaments during her time with the cougars.
She has earned both first and second team honors for the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and has been named ODAC golfer of the week a total of 7 times. She was also named Junior Female Athlete of the Year Award at Averett’s Night of Champions for the 23’-24’ season.
“There’s definitely a couple things that come to mind when I’m thinking about the different accomplishments I’m the most proud of,” Caroline Tamburstuen, a senior on the women’s golf team, said. “it either has to be my 3 individual wins, getting ODAC first team last spring, or junior female athlete of the year last year. These are all accomplishments I feel like i have worked hard for and it’s just been an overwhelming joy when I have achieved them.”
So far in her senior season Tamburstuen has already been named ODAC player of the week and has placed first in a tournament. She’s looking forward to playing out the rest of the season in the spring semester.
“It’s definitely the memories of the good times we have had as a team that’s always going to stick with me,” Tamburstuen, said. “The fun times we have had on the road and team bonding. I’m grateful for the good times that I’ll look back on when I’m older.”
Overall, Tamburstuen has set the bar high for Averett women’s golf. As a member of the team from its inaugural season, Tamburstuen has continued to set records at Averett and make waves in the ODAC. We can’t wait to see what’s next in store for her in the future.
