October 5th-6th is Fall break 2023 which means no classes and a long-waited break from classes for the students.
With Fall break being right ahead of us, students have a variety of different things planned.
Having a few extra days off class and an extended weekend gives students the chance to travel home and visit their family and friends too.
“My plans are to go home over the break,” Joshua Garcia, freshman majoring in business, said. “The extra few days give me more time to spend with my family which I look forward to.”
Some students are also staying in Danville with nothing specific planned.
“I don’t have any plans for fall break in particular,” Maksim Sukhomlinov, Junior majoring in accounting and finance, said. “I would normally go on a trip, but this year I’m not doing anything.”
Fall break is also a great opportunity for the students to relax and get some time off from their classes.
“I also like to just relax during the break and completely recharge my batteries,” Sukhomlinov said. “It really helps me reload my brain and mentally reset from classes and anything else that has been going on”
For student athletes who are currently in season, fall break looks pretty similar to any other week.
“As we are in season with the team, we don’t really have any time to plan anything or go anywhere,” Carlos Solli, Freshman member of the men’s soccer team, said. “We still have practice during the break so it’s basically just like any other day.”
Despite athletics being a massive part of daily life in college, the need to explore and visit other places is still a main priority for the students.
“I understand that being in season and having to practice is important, however it would be nice with a change of pace,” Solli said. “As an international freshman I really want to explore and see other places outside Danville, but I guess that has to wait until after the season.”
