After being away from the stage for over a year, Averett Theater is finally back and making music again. And now, Averett University is adding their own voices and talents with over 2,000 other theaters around the world the weekend of Nov. 12.

Presented by Theatrical Licensor Music theater international (MTI), “All Together Now!” is a global event celebrating local theater. Its main purpose is to aid theater organizations in a fundraising event for their local theater. Each participating organization will be producing their own local production and will all be preforming on the same weekend of November 12, 2021.

“MTI’s All Together Now! is about bringing people back to the theatre, whether as audience members or cast, crew and musicians,” said MTI’s President and CEO, Drew Cohen. “The revue features songs from the world’s most iconic musicals, so there is definitely something for everyone to enjoy. Our goal with this worldwide event is for organizations to provide hope, inspiration and excitement to their communities through the transformative power of musical theatre”

Averett University Theatre’s performances are scheduled for November 12 to November 14, 2021 at 7pm and November 14, 2021 at 2pm.

“The Theatre is back!” said Giuseppe Ritorto, Director and Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre. “We have so much talent in our Theatre Department and I cannot wait to share this performance with everyone in our community!”

This revue features hit songs from multiple musicals including Rent, Les Misérables, Into the Woods, Matilda, Hairspray, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Fiddler on the Roof, Once on This Island, Little Shop of Horrors, Mamma Mia! and many more.

“The past year has been a challenging time for everyone, particularly arts organizations,” said Richard Breen, Professor and Chair of Theatre Arts. “We look forward to welcoming our patrons back with this truly wonderful revue!”
